The gifts of the Spirit are just that: gifts, not trophies, ministries, or identity builders. They are gifts of His grace, expressions of His love, invitations of His transformation, or impartation for the person receiving. They are to help build faith, hope, and love in Jesus only, not in the person delivering the gifts. His gifts point to His message and to His kingdom. They are His gifts to be given away in order to awaken hearts and glorify Him. May we eagerly desire spiritual gifts, but let’s keep them pure and focused on the giver, not on the delivery person.
